My old studio space
I was looking at some photos of my old studio space and the kind of things I was making then and thought I'd share here.
I used to make canvases painted with a single colour which I assemble with found metals or wood.
My aim was to display these hand made 'CCTV cameras' in a meter square perspex box.
Notice the green oval shape on the left; this was one of a series of enamel paintings of electronic components. I really wanted to explore these in ceramics but lacked the facilities.
A close-up of my 'CCTV cameras' made from food packaging boxes, brown paper tape, glue and painted with silver acrylic.
I've always valued experimentation with materials; here I used canvas, rabbit skin glue, dust, varnish and chrome enamel paint; an interesting effect but a recipe for disaster!
I intended to make two paintings (using metallic oil) of the empty suits and call them Adam and Eve.
Me as half-tone.
