Kimono (Glamour Clamour), 2014

Cutting-up glossy lifestyle magazines, arranging areas of colour and filling spaces with a mosaic of binary.

Using this cultural material to make my art contextualises my work in a age of the decline of print and pays analogue homage to the digital.

Perhaps, I also hope to reflect back into my work some of the aspirational lustre these publications emit; whilst fantasising that one day my art might grace the walls of the interior design perfection pictured within.

Also, i think, a nod to my love of the work of Robert Motherwell.
